Satake Sends Aid to Victims of the Earthquake in the Indian Ocean off Sumatra

Aid Includes 8,000 Servings of Instant Rice That Can Be Prepared with Hot Water

Satake would like to express our deepest condolences to those affected by the earthquake in the Indian Ocean off Sumatra. Satake sent 800kg (8,000 servings) of instant rice to Indonesia as aid to the victims of the January 21st earthquake in the Indian Ocean off Sumatra. The aid will be delivered to the Indonesian Red Cross Society in Banda Aceh through the Indonesian Embassy in Japan.

Indonesia is the 3rd largest rice producing country in the world, and Satake has been contributing to the development of the rice industry in Indonesia for more than 40 years by exporting rice processing machinery. Today, Satake provides technology to an agent in Indonesia so that they can manufacture Satake machinery locally.

Satake dispatched the instant rice as relief to the victims of the earthquake. The instant rice is a food that can be prepared in 15 minutes simply by adding hot water. It is widely enjoyed by individuals, companies and government offices in Japan.
