Satake Receives Commendation
From Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

Satake has received a commendation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in recognition of its contributions to international cooperation.

With Mr. Kunihiko Saito, Director-General of JICA

Commendations from JICA are given to the persons or organizations with a history of supporting JICA activities and fostering international cooperation. 14 organizations and 27 persons were selected to receive an award this year. The ceremony was held on July 31st in celebration of the anniversary of the agency's founding. Chairperson Toshiko Satake was in attendance.

Satake has dedicated itself to its customers all over the world, whether by providing opportunities for education in the use of grain processing technology or by developing, manufacturing and promoting grain processing machinery, primarily for rice and wheat.

One example of Satake's commitment is “The Satake Centre for Grain Process Engineering” at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). Satake has also supported grain research at University of Arkansas and Louisiana State University. Satake also holds well-regarded rice and wheat flour milling seminars at locations around the world.

For its direct contributions to JICA, Satake has received JICA cadets from overseas for over 30 years. More than 1,800 cadets have learned rice milling technology from Satake in this way; Satake also dispatches lecturers overseas at JICA's request.
