Satake Signs Memorandum with Largest Rice Milling Company in Vietnam

Satake will work with the An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company to technologically improve their rice quality

On May 30th, Satake signed a memorandum with An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company (Head Office : No.23, Ha Hoang Ho Street, My Xuyen Ward, Long Xuyen, An Giang, Vietnam, Chairman : Huynh Van Thon, hereinafter called “AGPPS”), the largest rice miller and rice seed and agrichemical seller in Vietnam, to announce its contribution of technical expertise in drying, milling, analyzing and quality control, and production of value added rice. AGPPS plans to improve their rice quality with technology and products provided by Satake.

In summary, the memorandum states that Satake will provide AGPPS with the technology and machinery for (1) paddy drying, (2) rice milling and polishing, (3) rice analyzing and quality control, and (4) value added rice products production. The memorandum touches on the new paddy dryers that are used in their rice mills and the production of GABA.

AGPPS is the largest paddy seed and agrichemicals supplier. They were founded in 1993 and entered the rice milling business in 2010. They operate 4 rice mills and are the largest in this field as well.

AGPPS plans to establish 14 rice mills and increase their rice sales by a multiple of 25. They believe to improve their rice quality it is essential they improvie their rice dryers and maintain thorough quality control throughout the process.

AGPPS has introduced Satake optical sorters and seen Satake’s state-of-the-art large scale rice mill while touring Satake’s headquarters in Hiroshima. They understand that Satake has high technical capability from paddy drying to rice cooking and asked us for technical cooperation. Both parties have engaged in discussions and signed the memorandum at AGPPS’s office in Ho Chi Minh City on May 30th 2013.
