Satake Releases the Visual Checker “PIKAKEN?”

Anyone Can Easily Check for Cracked and Discolored Grains

Satake developed the visual checker “PIKAKEN?” to easily check grain for cracks and discoloration, which began selling on August 1.

The Visual Checker “PIKAKEN?”

Rice quality varies depending on factors like climate and harvesting time.
Cracked kernels are easily broken during rice milling negatively impacting the taste of cooked rice. Unfortunately it is difficult to visually check rice at the early stages of rice processing.
Satake developed the visual checker “PIKAKEN?” as an inexpensive and simple test kit that anyone can use to easily check the appearance of rice.
A rice grain scope (with LED light, AC100V ~ 240V power or AA batteries used), a transparent carton and color sheets (four colors; black, white, blue, beige) are included in the set.
“PIKAKEN ?” can check 1) deformed and discolored kernels in cereal and soybeans using colored sheets, and 2) cracked rice using a rice grain scope.
It is easy to check the condition with both methods, so anyone can easily use this equipment without specialized techniques or skills.
