Large-Scale Rice Milling Plant in Myanmar Successfully Operated

With Supporting Rice Milling Technology, Improving Rice Quality

In October 2013, Satake installed a large-scale rice milling plant in Myanmar; it continues to be successfully operated. The government of Myanmar is working to improve the quality of rice produced in Myanmar. Satake is supporting rice milling technology for its output quality by promoting sales of the state-of-the-art rice milling plants.

Alliance Star Co., Ltd, a general contractor, installed Satake’s large-scale rice milling plant.In October 2013, they entered into the rice milling industry for the first time, by establishing a rice milling plant in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar.Naypyidaw became the capital in 2003. Our facility is the first large-scale rice milling plant in the area.The plant can produce quality rice, using the latest rice milling machines, optical sorters, which remove defects and impurities, and analyzing equipment, which evaluates rice quality.Rice processed in the plant is currently only distributed in Myanmar, but they intend to export the rice in the future.

In 1997, Satake opened a representative office in Yangon, Myanmar, and has installed twenty rice milling plants in the Yangon area since, Satake has provided them with intensive maintenance support by using local field engineers.Satake also performs training programs for rice milling and machine functionality for operators.Satake has performed a series of activities to bring this rice milling plant project to fruition.

The Myanmar government started supporting agricultural productivity improvement by amending relevant laws in 2012 to improve the competitiveness of Myanmar rice in the export market.As part of the support, the government announced their policy for a stronger effort in improving rice quality and rice milling technology by investing in the latest rice milling plants.Satake intends to support the government’s policy to improve domestic rice quality and rice milling technology by enhancing their sales network and promoting state-of-the-art rice milling plants.
