"Omusubino-GABA", a Handmade Rice Ball Shop, Set to Open
in Taiwan in March, 2016
A Taiwanese company has agreed to cooperate to promote GABA rice
Satake Corporation and Ever Tech Instrumental Co., Ltd., a general engineering trade company in Taiwan, have agreed to set up an "Omusubino-GABA Taiwan Sister Shop" (name tentative). The contract was signed on December 7th, with plans to open the shop in March, 2016.

Omusubino-GABA is an "antenna shop" setup to promote and generate awareness of GABA rice as developed by Satake along with its unique technology. There are three shops in Japan, the 1st shop of which started trading in Saijo, Hiroshima from December 2011, and one further shop abroad.
Ever Tech is a general engineering trade company who offers sales and after-sale service for FPD (Flat Panel Display), as well as Satake products - which include an agency for optical sorters. This year Mr. Karl Liao, who is the president of Ever Tech, who was very impressed by the delicious GABA rice ball at "Omusubino-GABA Saijo" during his visit to Satake, subsequently offered to set up a similar rice ball shop in Taiwan. Satake also considered promoting GABA rice internationally, resulting in Satake concluding the contract in response to his demonstration of understanding and passion.
They are planning to open the "Omusubino-GABA Taiwan Sister Shop" (name tentative) in March 2016. Currently the shop layout is in the process of being designed. Ever tech has agreed to operate the shop. The GABA brown rice is set to be imported from Japan, after which it will be milled and cooked in the shop. Products offered will include 5 varieties of GABA rice balls (including salmon, seasoned cod roe, tuna mixed with mayonnaise), GABA brown rice and GABA white rice.
If the enterprise is well received, both companies have their sights set on opening more shops in various locations in Taiwan. Also Ever Tech aims at sales of GABA generating machinery in the future.
