Satake wishes to express our deepest condolences to those affected by the earthquake in Niigata Prefecture. Satake and Daiwa Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. solicited companies in the area to contribute in-house products to the relief effort, and four local companies agreed to contribute their products and send volunteers to prepare meals outside.

Satake Corporation contributed 5,000 servings of “Magic Rice”, Mishima Shokuhin Co., Ltd. contributed 5,000 servings of seasoning and cooking ingredients, Hoshaku Inryo Co., Ltd. contributed 3,000 500ml bottles of water (to cook magic rice) and Daiwa Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. contributed 7 kitchen furnaces in which both LPG and wood fuel can be used. The aid was dispatched to Yamakoshi village office in Niigata on November 5th.

Satake is also scheduled to send 3 volunteers and Daiwa Heavy Industry is scheduled to send 2 volunteers to the field to prepare hot rice porridge meals for the victims and teach them how to cook their own meals. We hope that our support will be able to help some of those affected by the earthquake.
