Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) executives visit Satake

Visit to an Active Company as a Local Conference Event

A delegation from the Japan Business Federation, headed by Chairman Mr. Hiroshi Okuda, visited the Satake Corporation on 9th March, 2005. This visit was an inspection tour from the 33rd Chugoku Local Economy Conference held in Hiroshima City. It was arranged at the request of the delegation who wished to visit the Satake Corporation, inventors of the first power-driven rice milling machine in Japan and a world leading grain processing manufacturer. The delegation members were as follows:
Mr. Hiroshima Okuda, Chairman (Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation)
Mr. Taizo Nishimuro, Vice Chairman (Chairman of Toshiba Corporation)
Mr. Masaharu Shibata, Vice Chairman (Chairman of NGK Insulators, Ltd.)
Mr. Kenji Miyahara, Vice Chairman (Chairman of Sumitomo Corporation)
Mr. Keiichiro Takahara, Vice Chair of Council (Chairman of Unicharm Corporation)
and other executives and persons concerned, about 30 persons in total.

The delegation arrived at the Satake head office building at 10:30a.m. and were welcomed by Chairperson Dr. Toshiko Satake and other directors. We introduced them to Satake's R&D activities at the new Crystal Laboratory which will be completed soon. The Crystal Laboratory comprises various advanced laboratories and an R&D center for integrating processing machinery with advanced technologies and also developing new products according to customers' demands.
After viewing the Crystal Laboratory, they visited the Satake Memorial Museum to observe the history of the Satake Corporation and various epoch-making products developed during successive generations.
At the showroom where Prime Minister Mr. Junichiro Koizumi visited in March 2004, they observed popular current products including the Rinse-free Rice Producing Systems, Color Sorters and a Debranning type of Flour Milling System. They were impressed by this demonstration of highly technological equipment.
According to Dr. Satake's explanations, they observed demonstrations of a kitchen rice mill "Magic Mill" and an instant rice product "Magic Rice" which they then tasted.
Although the duration of their stay was only one hour, we were able to make their visit impressive. The first visit by the Japan Business Federation was in March 1999 and this visit was the second.
