Satake Provides Emergency Relief to Victims of Cyclone Nargis

13,000 Just-Add-Water Meals of Instant Rice

Satake Corporation expresses its heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by cyclone Nargis which struck in Myanmar in May, 2008.
On June 6, 2008, Satake Corporation announced it would send \5,000,000 yen worth of aid to the victims of the cyclone in the form of 13,000 packages of instant rice.
This emergency relief will be delivered through Japan Platform (JPF), a nonprofit corporation, and coordinated by the General Affair Department of the International Office of Hiroshima Prefecture.

Myanmar is the world's seventh largest producer of rice. Approximately 30 years ago, Satake installed a rice milling plant and exported several stand-alone rice milling machines to Myanmar to help develop the rice milling industry.

Satake has since maintained a local office to provide sales and service for its rice milling machines.

We at Satake hope that the relief supplies will help in some small way to heal the damage caused by the cyclone.

Magic Rice brand instant rice is a delicious meal that can be prepared simply by adding water. Domestically, companies and municipal governments keep Magic Rice in stock for disaster response purposes and families use it in emergency situations.
