Comprehensive Technical Cooperation Agreement with
Institute of Food Science and Technology, China

A first for a Japanese private sector company

Hiroshima, Japan; April 4, 2019 - On January 17th, 2019, Satake signed a comprehensive technical cooperation agreement with the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) in the People's Republic of China (Director General: Dai Xiaofeng, Address: No.2 West Road, Yuanmingyuan, Haidian District, Beijing, 100193).

The IFST, a part of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS) - Ministry of Agriculture, is the only body that studies agro-products processing science at the national level.

On January 17, Kosuke Sasaki, Satake's Director in charge of its China operations, and Zhu Jie, Director of Scientific Research Management on Dai Xiaofeng's behalf, signed the agreement at the IFST. In addition to technical exchange programs and joint research projects, the agreement covers a wide range of areas such as mutual faculty training and joint promotion of the research results.

Kosuke Sasaki says "the grain market in both countries are experiencing a shift in demand, from product quantity, quality/taste, to health. With experience spanning more than 120 years, there are many things Satake can contribute to the food culture, and we are very excited about this agreement."

Since the opening of its Beijing office in 1994 followed by Satake Manufacturing (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in 1997, Satake has been actively and continuously expanding its business in Chinese market.
