Penrith, Australia; June 9, 2025 - SATAKE announces that Satake Corporation (Satake) and My PlantCo's operating business Real Oats have formalised exclusivity arrangements that represent a key foundation in the development and commercialisation of new oat rice, noodle and pasta product lines - making more nutritious consumer staples developed with sustainable grains available to customers globally.
My PlantCo has been developing these new oat products, which have a high protein, low carb, higher fiber and beta glucan value proposition edge over traditional rice, noodle and pasta options made from traditional grains.
These products have been derived from through unique intellectual property which has been previously developed by the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC) and ongoing works being conducted in conjunction with Australia's Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) - a diverse and multi-faceted set of participants.
Satake is a global leader in the engineering, design, manufacturing and supply of equipment for the processing and sorting of agricultural products including rice, grains and beans and is widely considered as the leader in rice milling machinery.
The arrangements will enable optimisation of technical process flows, supply of customised machinery and the provision of deep knowledge and expertise Satake retains, through its global operations.
The arrangements also span a multi-phase format, from an initial pilot phase to subsequent mass-commercialisation phases, forming a full pathway to market entry and commercialisation, as well as contemplation of 'partnership' arrangements with the addition of distribution partners during commercialisation phases.
"Satake is honoured to play a key role in My PlantCo's innovative and disruptive oat project," said Kenji Yamashita, Managing Director of Satake Australia.
"This partnership reflects the trust placed in our global reputation for quality and precision, while also strengthening our presence in Australia. We're excited to contribute to the growth of the emerging oat industry and look forward to a successful collaboration with My PlantCo".
Previously, Satake expanded their operations in Australia, through the acquisition of DE Engineers' Silo Division in Western Australia where My PlantCo also has its business based on.
"Appointing Satake as our trusted and exclusive equipment partner marks a critical step in scaling up the production of our oat-based products," said Mei Yong, CEO and Founder of My PlantCo.
"Their legacy of innovation and technical expertise in advanced grain processing gives us confidence as we move to commercialise new oat products globally. Partnering with Satake significantly de-risks our expansion and strengthens our ability to deliver premium, value-added offerings to market."
