Hiroshima, Japan; October 5, 2026 - Satake announces the launch of the CHT16A, a new high-capacity optical sorter developed primarily for grain and seed processing applications in overseas markets, including India.
The new CHT16A was developed to meet the growing demand for higher throughput and lower operating costs among processors worldwide, particularly those processing rice, wheat, lentils, and seeds. Featuring a large processing capacity of over 30 tons of long-grain rice per hour*, the machine enables customers to significantly reduce sorting costs while maintaining high sorting accuracy and product quality.
The CHT16A incorporates Satake's automatic sensitivity creation function, "Satake Smart Sensitivity" technology which evaluates the color profile of target defects and automatically creates optimal sensitivity settings. This reduces setup time, simplifies operation, and minimizes dependence on operator experience while ensuring consistent sorting performance.
In addition, the machine is equipped with Advanced Shape Sorting technology, which enhances the sorter's ability to identify and remove shape-related defects such as broken, adhered, and malformed grains.
The CHT16A can be configured for up to five-stage sorting*, maximizing product recovery and classification efficiency while ensuring the high product quality required for greater market value.
The CHT16A is available through Satake's global sales and service network.
* Sorting capacity may vary depending on the material condition.
* Five-stage sorting configuration is scheduled to be available from late 2026.
